At Eden Design we look to create landscapes that respond to location, history and environment.
We listen carefully to our clients aims and ambitions, and seek to achieve harmony between people, buildings and their surroundings.
Caroline Curtis (nee Caroline Smart) BA (Hons) Dip Landscape Architecture
Working in both the public and private sectors since 1991, Caroline’s experience encompasses a broad range of environmental disciplines, from roles dealing with sustainability and community access to wildlife conservation and planning. Working within local authorities, wildlife trusts and other community and environmental organisations has given Caroline a knowledge and appreciation of environmental issues from all sides.
Caroline set up Eden Design in 1999 at the Wool Hall in Bristol. The choice of company name honours an idylic childhood spent exploring her native Cumbria's beautiful Eden Valley, where a life-long love of all things outdoors began. An adolescence spent huddled to rock faces on the windswept Cumbrian fells and canoeing, rowing and windsurfing, has evolved to include regular bouts of (seasonal!) sea and wild swimming, stand up paddle boarding, sea kayaking and the mandatory body boarding!
Jeff Curtis BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture
Jeff has been professionally designing and creating private and public landscapes since 1996. An initial career as a Land Surveyor provided a practical basis for studying Landscape Architecture at Leeds. Subsequent employment with private garden design and build companies including the nationally acclaimed Hillier Landscapes, equipped him with a practical knowledge of materials and plants. Jeff's ability to create high quality landscapes, combining an understated use of hard landscaping materials overlaid with stunning planting schemes, has resulted in a wealth of private garden and commercial landscape commissions.
Joining Eden Design in 2005 Jeff created the missing link within the company, enabling a well informed, all-round landscape design company to be formed.
Jeff's natural flair for art is currently being explored through oil and acrylic painting of both land and seascapes, which he just about manages to fit in around work, family...and following and playing his beloved football!
